My Fulbright scholarship represented a unique experience in life, namely 5 months of exploring the American culture while networking and doing research focused on environmental impact assessment in a prestigious university, as is the case of Ohio State University. The time spent at the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, School of Environment and Natural Resources helped me grow from the professional point of view and gave me the opportunity to meet many wonderful researchers with whom I had the pleasure to exchange ideas for future research collaborations.
Many thanks to Ohio State University and especially to my mentor Prof. Ramiro Berardo for hosting my inspiring fellowship. I made new friends and have visited some new places to find cooperation and get in touch with other Fulbrighters (for example: Boston – Northeastern University – Prof. Albert-László Barabási; Minneapolis Saint Paul – enrichment seminar on American Security: Economic and Food Solutions, where I explored aspects of the U.S. society and culture; New York; Los Angeles; Florida). Last but not least, I would like to thank the US (IIE) and Romanian Fulbright Commission, who supported and guided me every moment.
A first result of my Fulbright scholarship is the scientific review that I wrote in preparation for my U.S. fellowship and which was published in the journal Environmental Impact Assessment Review with the title: “Empowering impact assessments knowledge and international research collaboration – A bibliometric analysis of Environmental Impact Assessment Review journal”. I would conclude by saying: Once a Fulbrighter always a Fulbrighter
