Native American History and Culture Presentation in Cluj

On June 11, 2018, Courtney-Sophia Henry, Fulbright ETA at "Dunarea de Jos" University in Galați, visited the American Corner at Biblioteca Judeteana “Octavian Goga” in Cluj-Napoca. She spoke with teachers and high school students from „Nicolae Balcescu” Theoretical High School, „Victor Babes” Theoretical High School and „Alexandru Borza” Technological High School, as well as faculty from Sports High School and an assistant professor from „Babes-Bolyai” University, with forty attendees in all.
The focus of the presentation was on Native American (Ojibwe) history and culture, as well as Ms. Henry's military service in the United States Navy. Participants were invited to ask their own questions, and a lively discussion took place after the talk about overcoming adversity, tattoo art, Ojibwe spirituality, and Ms. Henry's adjustment to life in Romania.
