Romania took hold of my heart in 2015 and since then has consumed my mind and soul. As with any genuine commitment, my relationship with this beautiful, complex country has grown and deepened over time as I have learned of its many tragedies, as well as its many triumphs. I have surrendered myself to Romania. [...] As I continue my Romanian journey, I marvel over the resiliency and fortitude of the people. I am fortunate to have developed close relationships, familial in many ways, with many Romanians. And I am eternally grateful to have been granted a Fulbright and honored to become part of this amazing community.
Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission Staff Connects with Students at ASE
On November 5, representatives of the Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission had a chance to meet students interested in graduate study opportunities in the U.S., at the kind invitation of the Center for American Studies of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies/ASE.
The presentation addressed, in turn, the Fulbright Student Award and independent applications to graduate programs in the U.S. The students present were keen to learn more about the application steps, funding, school selection and the required documents. We were also joined by Dr. Cătălin Albu, Fulbright Senior alumnus, who kindly shared his experience as a Fulbright scholar at the University of Dayton Ohio, and provided valuable advice to potential candidates.
We would like to thank the Center for American Studies of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and its coordinator Dr. Elena Nicolae, for their warm reception and for the impeccable organization, as well as Drs. Cătălin Albu and Teodora Șerban-Oprescu, for their support in organizing and promoting the event.
