
Daniela Staicu, a 2018-2019 Fulbright Alumna at Penn State University and a 2018 nominee for the U.S. State Department’s International Women of Courage Award, received the Alumni Achievement Award from the IEDC Bled School of Management, Slovenia, on April 23.
At the international forum entitled “New Frontiers in Innovation” — which explored innovation beyond technology by highlighting the power of bold thinking, cross-sector collaboration, and global responsibility — five IEDC Bled School of Management successful alumni from Romania, Slovenia, Croatia, Turkey, and Bosnia and Herzegovina were recognized for their achievements.
Daniela is a university lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ) within the Bucharest University of Economic Studies. She holds a PhD in Economics (2019) and has dedicated her research to the development of social enterprises, focusing on the challenges and opportunities within Romania’s social business ecosystem. Recently, she completed a postdoctoral program exploring innovative business models for the circular economy. With extensive experience in social entrepreneurship, Daniela is actively involved in training, research, and teaching in this field.
