Professors Oana Godeanu-Kenworthy (Miami University, Ohio) and Woden Teachout (Union Institute and University, Vermont), current U.S. Fulbright Scholars at the University of Bucharest and Lucian Blaga University in Sibiu participated in an Interactive Workshop on Student-Centered Instructional Strategies organized by the Department of British, American and German Studies at the Faculty of Letters, University of Craiova.
It was a day-long workshop and they covered many topics including syllabus development, developing learning objectives, creating rubrics, supporting formal student writing, informal writing exercises, teaching public speaking, interactive lecture techniques, and teaching with technology.
In Oana Godeanu’s words: “I find student-centered learning a very effective antidote to student apathy in the classroom. Woden and I thank Dr. Sorin Cazacu for the invitation and are very excited about this event. As an alumna of the University of Craiova, it is a very special opportunity for me personally to share some teaching tips to my colleagues from this institution and from the larger teaching community of Craiova.”
