In December 2017, Fulbright ETA Courtney-Sophia Henry met twice with students from the Art Faculty at Universitatea de Vest din Timisoara. The talk on December 5th revolved around general topics pertaining to American culture, including military service, education, and healthcare. The following week, students came prepared with more questions related to the arts and urban revitalization in Ms. Henry’s home city of Detroit, Michigan.
On 19 January 2018, Ms. Henry was invited to visit Bartók Béla High School in Timisoara to speak with a group of twelfth graders who are taking optional English classes in addition to their regular Hungarian-language curriculum. The students were able to practice their English with Ms. Henry and asked questions on a variety of topics related to American culture, including music, movies, college life, and more.
