On February 21, the Division of ArchaeoSciences – the Research Institute of the University of Bucharest (ICUB) is organizing the 23rd ArchaeoSciences Seminar. The ArchaeoSciences Seminars provide a setting for professionals in the Archaeological Sciences field from different parts of the world, to share knowledge, and transmit meaningful information about the latest issues regarding the current methods and approaches used to study the past. It is also a chance for Romanian students to learn more about the various interdisciplinary aspects of archaeology.
The guest speaker of the next seminar is Dr. Enrico Greco from University of Trieste, Italy who will give a lecture on “Analytical techniques for bio-molecular archaeology: case studies from ancient Mediterranean.” Dr. Enrico Greco graduated magna cum laude in Technologies for Conservation of Cultural Heritage (BSc) and in Chemistry of Materials (MSc) at the University of Catania (Italy). From 2014 to 2017 he was PhD student in Chemical Sciences at University of Catania (Italy)and, at the same time, he was visiting PhD student at Aix-Marseille University and CNRS (France), CNR (Italy), Peking University (China) and University of South Florida (USA).
The event will be moderated by Aurélien Tafani, PhD candidate in Archaeology at the University of South Florida and currently a Fulbright Student Researcher at the University of Bucharest.
This event is open to the public and will take place on Monday, 21 February 2022, starting with 11:00 am (EET) at the Faculty of Biology, in the Conference Room of the Research Platform in Biology and Systematic Ecology (Splaiul Independenței, no. 91-95, Bucharest).
