On April 27, the Ambassador of the United States of America Kathleen Kavalec and Mr. Mark Taplin hosted an anniversary reception marking 30 years since the inauguration of the Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission. The celebration brought together a highly distinguished public, made up of ministers, diplomats, and representatives of the business environment, alongside Romanian and U.S. grantees, alumni and academia dedicated to educational exchanges.
The U.S. Ambassador Kathleen Kavalec, Minister of Education Dr. Ligia Deca, along with Prof. Remus Pricopie, President of the Commission’s Board of Directors, and Prof. Mircea Dumitru, Executive Director of the Commission greeted the audience and emphasized the distinct role the Fulbright Program is continuing to play in fostering the relationships between our cultures, societies, and countries.
The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by U.S. Fulbrighters and musicians Zoë Aqua and Shaun Williams who delivered a wonderful musical moment drawing from the Klezmer and Transylvanian musical traditions.
We thank all our partners and friends for their steady support of our endeavors, and we congratulate Romanian and American Fulbrighters alike, who have given distinction, excellence, vitality, and human generosity to this program.
