Daniela L. Constantin, Professor at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and Fulbright Alumna, has recently participated in the Advanced Brainstorm Carrefour (ABC) meeting entitled “The City 2.0: Smart People, Places, Planning”, hosted by Professor Edward Glaeser, Harvard Kennedy School – Harvard University, Cambridge, MA. The meeting was jointly organised by Harvard University, the Regional Science Academy, Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS) – the Netherlands, the Centre for the Future of Places – Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden and the Ax:son Johnson Foundation – Sweden.
Professor Constantin presented the paper “Smart Solutions to City Resilience Challenges” (co-authored with Dr. Cristina Serbanica) in a session with Professor Carlo Ratti from M.I.T. – Cambridge, MA, chaired by Professor Peter Nijkamp from Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS).
The research undertaken for this paper was supported by a grant of the Romanian Ministry of Research and Innovation, CNCS – UEFISCDI, within the PNCDI III project ”ReGrowEU – Advancing ground-breaking research in regional growth and development theories, through a resilience approach: towards a convergent, balanced and sustainable European Union”.
